Ally, Josh and Brendan are half siblings living in Australia who have a difficult situation to face at School and at home. They have a special interest in the past as they have previously embarked on two time-travelling adventures with God's divine help.

Once again they embark on their latest time-travelling adventure into first century, ancient Syria. On the road to Damascus the children meet the frightening Commander who is on a mission to find and punish anyone who disagrees with his religious views.  The children must quickly learn who can be trusted in this dystopian Village as they push back against the darkness and look for the truth. In time, the children learn that ordinary people with extraordinary faith in God can have a monumental impact throughout the generations.

With the help of biblical heroes of old, this coming of age story will help young people discover their own unique purpose and mission in life. If you enjoy action-packed, suspenseful drama enveloped in cultural history, you are going to love "Time to Shine".

About the Characters:

ALLY is a 15 year old teenage girl living in Melbourne, Australia with brown eyes, longish hair, and average academic ability. She longs to be fully accepted and loved by her parents and believes that they would be proud of her if she exhibited more ambition and could work out her future career. She loves hanging out with her friends, but in recent years, has also grown closer to her brothers as a result of the time-travelling trips they have taken together.

JOSH is a 12 year old, middle child who is feeling the stresses and strains of starting high school and resorts to cheating on an English essay in order to keep his head above water. Up until recently, Josh played by the rules, and approached life in a sensible but cautious manner.

BRENDAN is a lively, energetic and curious 5 year old who is unafraid (of most things). Brendan desperately yearns for the approval of his older siblings and has a knack for discerning truth in complex situations. Brendan just started Prep at school.

SAULA is a law-abiding, punctilious Jewish scholar and leader of men who initiates a program to remove heretics from the known world. His campaign of terror and violence earns him a reputation of infamy...until he arrives in Damascus. Saul is a key figure in the Bible.

ANANIAS is an old carpenter who lives a quiet life with his two unmarried sisters in the Jewish quarter of Damascus during the first century. A few years earlier, Ananias had met the famous Jesus on one of his annual trips to the Holy Land and firmly believes him to be the son of God. Ananias is mentioned in the Bible for helping Saul.

JUDAS is one of Ananias’ oldest friends, Judas is an elderly widower who runs a small shop in Via Rector in Damascus. Given the frightening political climate, Judas is encouraged to partner alongside ruthless people to save his own skin & the life of his troublesome son.
