South Park

Disclosure: Product was received for review purposes only. All opinions are my own.

South Park was not a show I turned to watch on tv (although we have recently and certainly get a few laughs), and I did not have the pleasure of playing the first game, South Park: The Stick of Truth. Yet, when I heard the title of this game: South Park The Fractured But Whole. I could not help but laugh and have been giggling ever since.

Even though, there is some eyebrow raising dialog right from the start, with some serious potty humor, I know it is obviously to make us laugh. Which we are doing. Here is what we have learned so far:

When you first arrive at South Park, you can have a little fun picking out clothes and hair for your Superhero. Now go explore and have some fun being The New Kid in South Park.

Ok, so like any game with a map, only certain areas are available to start. After visiting a few houses and opening drawers to gather items, the new kid meets with the Coon in his basement and agrees to generate some followers on Coonstigram. Off you go to explore and meet new people - Some poeple will allow you to take a selfie, while others will not, so, focus on this for a little bit while still doing other side quests. The game does make it easy for us to know who to approach by giving us a camera sign next to possible followers, sometimes you have to do them a favor first before they will allow a picture. You might even get a selfie with Morgan Freeman at his taco place.

Remember lava is deadly - do not try to cross it.

Along with increasing your Coonstagram followers, other "jobs" include the collection of certain art pieces called Yaoi art, looking for a lost cat, and of course the battle scenes.

DID YOU KNOW? Your character can use the loo in the game.

There is plenty of fun to be had gathering items along the way around town, checking out other people's homes. Basically stealing their stuff lol. I am still working out how to use these items. I also need to figure out how to go to sleep and improve my combat battle skills. It took a while to learn how to make the moves work, and it seems to be a big part of the game so far. Along with opening the map, and looking for the lost cat...
Funny Laugh Out Loud Scenes Include:
The kids stopping in the middle of a battle in the street to allow a car to pass.

I am having loads of fun trying to figure this game out so far, although I can only go for about 20 minutues before needing/taking a break. lol I am determined to get the hang of the battles...Have you tried it yet?

This game is available for XBoxOne, PS4, and PC. Rated: M

Game Description

In the quiet mountain town of South Park, darkness has spread across the land. A new power is rising to combat this evil. An entire squad of superheroes will rise, led by a nocturnal scavenger sworn to clean the trash can of South Park society.

The kids are playing superheroes, and Cartman is determined to turn Coon and Friends into the biggest superhero franchise of all time. However, the villainous Professor Chaos emerges with an evil plan to eliminate Coon and Friends. The heroes need to work as a team to fight the chaos and terror that that grips the town.

Tips from Ubisoft:
  • Some areas of South Park are initially inaccessible. Revisit them later on after unlocking buddy powers that may clear the way.

  • Explore the town freely in the daytime and perform heroic deeds both in and out of the main questline.

  • Each night marks a major plot point and denotes a more intensive, linear mission.

  • Going to bed triggers the transition to night so take care of other tasks before heading home.
