GIFT GUIDE: Assassin's Creed® Odyssey #UbistarsOctober 29, 2018 Assassin's Creed Odyssey is the eleventh main installment in the Assassin's Creed series developed by Ubisoft. In this installment, we go back in time to ancient greece to write our own epic odyssey and become a legendary Spartan hero. "Forge your path in a world on the brink of tearing itself apart. Influence history in an ever-changing world shaped by your choices." Because of the rating -- we had been putting off adding any Assassin's Creed to our collection. Yet, we may have just been waiting for the best one -- and so far, so good! Assassin's Creed Odyssey is a thrilling action packed adventure, with an engaging story line and amazing graphics. One could easily get lost in the game and play for hours on end. The map is huge, with many side activities and treasures to find while doing missions. Did I mention the graphics - they are mind-blowing! If you are already a fan of Assassin's Creed, you will love Odyssey. If you have not yet ventured into them, then start with this one! You will not be disappointed.  Synopsis The story line is set in ancient Greece, recounting the history of the Peloponnesian War. A time when the Sparta and Athens are fighting each other for rule of the Greek world. The main player (you) is a mercenary named Alexios (or you can choose Kassandra) who fights battles and assassinates enemies while achieving missions. To help him along the way Alexios will have access to a boat, which you can customize, upgrade weaponry and recruit crewmembers to help find uncharted locations, hidden treasures, and battle entire fleets. On land you have a horse to ride and a bird you can call to help scope out an area, spot treasure, and highlight enemies. On your adventure, you will discover many myths and legends. "From ancient rituals to famed statues, come face to face with Greece's legendary figures and discover the true nature of its most daunting mythological beasts." We like the "follow the road" feature which allows the horse to follow the path without help from the player, allowing the player to enjoy the gorgeous scenery. We like how Alexios can go into stealth mode and can easily climb up the side of buildings and although we have only started our adventure, we are loving it and it is quite the hit with the boys. TIP: Always choose your best weapon and armor up before battles and listen to the cut scenes for clues. There is no "right or wrong" way to play the game but keep in mind all actions have consequences, with many different endings available, be sure to choose wisely. "Forge your destiny and define your own path while influencing history shaped by your decisions."
